This living room was envisioned as a place of comfort where soft curves replace sharp edges, warm lighting creates a welcoming glow, and muted tones allow every element to breathe. The illuminated arch naturally draws the eye, but a space this thoughtfully designed needed a material that could quietly carry the same sense of warmth beyond the focal wall.
That’s where Rattan found its place.
Inspired by the timeless artistry of handwoven cane, Rattan brings the familiarity of traditional craftsmanship into a contemporary setting. Rather than replicating the material itself, it captures its rhythm, texture, and understated beauty through decorative laminated glass.
Applied to the cabinetry, the textured surface introduces depth without adding visual weight. As ambient light moves across the room, the delicate woven pattern comes alive, creating subtle shadows and layers that enrich the otherwise smooth finishes. It softens the cabinetry, complements the pastel palette, and creates a seamless dialogue with the wood tones and gentle curves throughout the interior.
More importantly, it preserves functionality. The textured glass provides privacy for storage while maintaining a refined aesthetic, allowing the cabinetry to feel elegant instead of utilitarian.
